Turkish Cheese Pastry

In Turkey, pastries are a common breakfast food and snack alongside tea. This particular dish is popular as it’s easy to make and doesn’t take long to cook.  My own family generally makes it on a weekend every two months. Please try it!

Ingredients

Serves 6 people

  1. 15 grams of Italian parsley
  2. 1 egg
  3. 2 puff pastry sheets
  4. 200 grams of feta cheese
  5. 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds

Recipe

1. Cut out 10 x 10 cm squares from the puff pastry dough.

2. Chop up the parsley and mix it with the feta cheese. Put some of the mixture in the center of each square.

3. Fold each square into a triangle.

4. Crack the egg and separate the yolk. Using a brush, spread the yolk on top of each of the triangles. Then sprinkle some sesame seeds on top of the newly spread yolk.

5. Bake the triangles in an oven for 30 minutes at approximately 200 degrees Celsius.
