オンラインのクラスになると決まった時、私は「オンラインだからこそできること」を考えました。そこで、今回は日本在住の八木先生にお願いして紙切りを見せていただいたり、Japan Outreach Initiativeでヒューストンにいる嶋口先生に関西弁やお弁当ワークショップをしていただいたりしました。みんなでいっしょに紙でうさぎを切ったり（私は半分だけでやめておきました）、りんごのうさぎちゃんを作ったりしましたね。「なんでやねん」も上手に言えるようになりました。

When the University announced that the summer course was going to be taught completely online, I thought of “what is possible because it is online”. This led to the kamikiri paper cutting workshop by Yagi-sensee who lives in Japan and the kansaiben dialect workshop and bento workshop by Shimaguchi-sensee who came to Asia Society Center on the Japan Outreach Initiative program. Wasn’t it fun for all of us to cut out a paper bunny (even though I gave up halfway) and to make bunnies out of an apple? Students also learned the unique expression of nande-yanen in kansai dialect.
